Voice has impressive cross-generational usage. Older audiences are adopting smart speakers such as Amazon Alexa for their intuitive nature whilst younger audiences are increasingly turning to voice on their mobiles as hands-free way to streamline interactions and complete tasks quickly. Charities are leveraging Conversational AI and Voice Services to engage supporters. For example:

  • Increase Awareness with content experiences. WaterAid.
  • Drive Donations - RSCPA, NSPCC, Comic Relief & Shelter are already doing this.
  • Gather opt-ins for marketing - 40%-50% agree to further marketing communications via voice campaigns (SMAS).
  • Provide Support & Advice to end-users.

Below are some of the charities and NGOs we've helped go #voice-first.

Solace Women's Aid

Freya is a web-based chatbot who can provide support and advice to those who need it 24/7 via the Solace website. She acts as an extension of Solace's support team. Depending on the time of day and location, Freya can put users in touch with the best services to contact and provide advice and tips if they're not ready to speak to someone.

RSPCA

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is a charity operating in England and Wales that promotes animal welfare. They are funded primarily by voluntary donations and are a leader in bringing new ways for members of the public to engage with the brand through Digital Channels like Amazon Alexa.

Taking into account the massive rise in adoption of smart speakers and voice technology in 2021, the RSPCA decided to launch services on Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant as a new way to reach and educate users, and drive charity donations from members of the UK public.
